Blizzard launched World of Warcraft classic in August 2019 as a way to rekindle the fading interest of the fans for what is arguably, the most successful MMORPG of all times. Since the release of the game millions of players, veterans and newcomers alike, have populated the servers in order to live or relive this unique adventure. One year later, let us review the news and rumors around this mythic game.
We will start this article with a big news from Blizzard. The Fall Conquest for WOW classic is going to take place in October. This esport-oriented event is going to take place over a 3-week span from October 3 to October 18. The event is playable by teams from Europe and North America with a 12,000 USD prize for the winners (the winners for each region will earn 6,000 USD). The sign ups have started on September 15 and will close on October 1 for Europe and October 8 for North America. A discord server is available for the event.
The rules are as follow, teams of 15 players with level 60 characters will fight in the 15v15 Arathi Basin arena to determine which teams will win the grand prize. The six best teams in each region will share 6,000 USD at the end of the tournament. The tournament will be divided into two phases, the qualifiers and the finals. The finalists will be the six best teams of each region. The tournament will use the War Game feature of WOW classic and the battles will take place on live servers. There are more information on the sign up page of the tournament.
On another note, Blizzard has been patching WOW classic since the game released and that trend has not changed over the last few weeks. Among the new changes, the more recent hotfixes fixed an issue that prevented Ossirian the Unscarred to reset correctly in the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj under certain circumstances. The bug that caused Combustion to apply a permanent buff to critical chance was also fixed. Blizzard is also planning to fix the improved weapon totem bug, which already existed in the vanilla version of WOW.
We will close this article on a rumor. According to various sources, Blizzard is planning to launch the “classic” version of The Burning Crusade, the first extension for the vanilla game. If that information is true, the fans will be ecstatic and will confirm the idea that WOW classic will one day become the main WOW game.
That’s all for the news and rumors. The new phase is coming. If you need some extra help with the game, you can check out GoldPiles store and buy WoW Classic gold. It is really cheap, and the service is nice also.
